Ryukisai No reprieve in this album! It's not catchy at first, but if you give it a few chances, it will finally break through your weak resolve. Damn efficient! Favorite track: Woolgatherer.

juhaulkoniemi A truly memorable album, one that highlights itself in your BC collection, blending together elements of metal and hardcore with something that's really difficult to describe (at least in my experience) Favorite track: Asunder.

Michael F. My current favorite album... I listened to this in full with headphones on repeat and realized I had just been mentally throttled by a mid-tempo barrage of beefy riffs, walls of bass and thundering drums, yet I was lulled to peace with the gravelly, whiskey-soaked voice of a cherub from punk/noise heaven akin to Frankie Stubbs from LEATHERFACE . This is one gloriously pummeling record that draws few comparisons. Brilliant. Favorite track: Asunder.
Sekator

Sekator Intriguing. Sort of a mixture of dark hardcore, with metal and alternatives elements thrown in. They have one hell of a vocalist, his graspy roar really elevates each song to a new level. Imagine what Tom Waits could sound like if he listened to brutal hardcore for a while.

Excellent production too, very organic tone, supposedly the whole album was recorded in a live setting.

Really original, despite many familiar elements it does not sound like a clone of some other band. Favorite track: Woolgatherer.

about

During their five years of existence, Belgium's DAGGERS have worked hard on creating unique and singular records to forge a very personal sound. Their new full-length "It's Not Jazz, It's Blues" is an entire different animal than on their crust-infused hardcore previous releases, delivering twelve epic tracks that will drag you down to the bottom of the earth and shred the living out of you with the haste and anger of a thousand rusty swords. Captured in an organic live recording setting, "It's Not Jazz, It's Blues" takes a hypnotic, noisy approach to the band's claustrophobic blend of punk and metal, more ruthless and vicious than ever.
